Adieu M.J.

June 25th 2009: The headlines on any news channel flashed "Michael Jackson no more; King of Pop dies". This bit of news shocked one and all, including me who was no big admirer of him. I sat glued to the television set, switching from one channel to another, still finding it hard to believe that what i heard was reality. A professional singer at the age of eleven, his untimely demise at the age of 50, seemed so untrue. I was no big fan of his, but I did feel very low learning about his unexpected end. I suddenly seemed to know literally everything about his life. He was a person whom scores of people all around the world loved, unfortunately he even managed to get himself entangled in controversies. Yet still, looking at his eyes, his body language and his attitude towards people, I felt there was a gentle person residing within. He was a performer par excellence and his huge fan following simply spoke for this fact. He was a brilliant singer, an excellent dancer and a true entertainer who will live in peoples hearts forever. His songs had soul and his voice had the power to move people from hysterical laughs to genuine tears. Everybody loved Michael. This slender figured person ruled the musical world for decades and this is no small feat.
Today, the 7th of July, 2009, as I watched the memorial service of this legendary singer, i felt really sad and was silently hoping that this was just a bad dream and his end had not yet come. As i watched the service go on, many a times my mind switched to other realms. Stories of his life and his lifestyle kept flashing in my mind. Everyone knew for sure that he was a brilliant singer, one of the best dancers ever born on the face of this earth and a person who attached a lot of meaning to his songs. He seemed to have no money-management skills yet never refused when it came to giving. He seemed to have a lot of love and care for all beings especially children and it clearly showed in his songs. Even as this memorial service continues, reality still does not seem to sink in. He was a recollected to be a person who has faced many tragedies but overcame them, smiling. He was a fun-filled, helpful, humorous person and a great father (his daughter's tears spoke a million words). You will be missed M.J.
Michael Jackson always wanted world peace and he never relented from expressing that thought. Today as his mortal remains go into the earth, lets hope that we all manage to bring peace and happiness and "HEAL THE WORLD". Jackson may no longer be among us but he will continue to live on with his works he left behind, for generations to come. He will be missed truly but his legacy shall never fade. There will never be another M.J..................
Rest in Peace Michael....
Adieu
